Australian Dance Performance Institute P/L (Trading as Brisbane Dance Centre) is a privately owned and operated Registered Training Organisation providing training in the performing arts sector. It has emerged as a result of Barbara Eversen’s continuing development of a business that has been dedicated to nurturing and preparing dancers for the past 40 years. ADPI believes that performers require a sound education as well as excellent training so that they can be an asset to their future employers. Our students combine their intensive performance training with academic studies.

Barbara Eversen became the first private provider to offer vocational education and training in Brisbane. Such a concept at that time was innovative and dance training in Brisbane entered into a new phase as a result. Thus, the course design, development, accreditation and subsequent provider registration took some time from the initial planning stage to its fruition when in December 1993, the VET courses were accredited. With expert advisors, Barbara has developed and steered the courses through several compulsory reaccreditations to now offer a Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Art qualification in either Musical Theatre & Commercial Dance or Classical & Contemporary Dance & a Certificate III in Performing Arts (part time).
As a registered provider offering accredited and nationally recognised qualifications, ADPI P/L complies with the requirements of NVR Standards for Registered Training Organisations. Every five years the course/s undergo a major review in consultation with the industry to ensure that the training is relevant to the current needs of graduates seeking career entry into various positions in the performing arts sector. We welcome students nationally and internationally who have the physicality / talent, desire, commitment and discipline to strive to achieve their performing arts life goals!
