Welcome to the A.C.T. Companion Dog Club, the A.C.T.'s first dog training club.
At the A.C.T. Companion Dog Club we teach you how to train your dog using motivational methods. We have lots of training activities such as obedience, agility, flyball, dances with dogs, tracking or rally obedience, as well as pets-as-therapy - and we can help you find out about many other dog sports!
The A.C.T. Companion Dog Club is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers. Many people contribute their time and skills so that today we have a well-equipped club with an average membership of about 800 people. Our instructors are extremely knowledgeable, well-trained and have lots of experience dealing with all kinds of dogs.
We have nine acres of fenced land available for use by members. Our grounds are disabled friendly: there are no steps, gates are wide enough for wheelchairs and we have disabled parking and toilet facilities. We are located on Jerrabomberra Ave in Symonston, just behind the Canberra Greyhound Racing Club.
Inside our clubhouse you will find our famous 'Paws' shop, where you can buy dog treats, leads and collars, toys, harnesses... as well as a tasty coffee for yourself! The shop is open on Wednesdays from 10am to 11am, on Thursday nights from 7.15pm to 8.45pm, and on Sundays from 9.15am to 11.45am.
