Standing on top of the Story Bridge surrounded by stunning panoramic views while the traffic glides beneath you is one of those ‘wow’ moments. It’s an experience you will always remember with the people you share it with.
The fun begins as soon as you leave our headquarters and walk to the suspended walkway beneath the road. Here you’ll start to learn about the colourful history of the Story Bridge and discover things about Brisbane that many Brisbane residents don’t even know.
You will then start the climb, rising past the road level. This is actually the steepest part of the climb and it’s over quickly so you can start enjoying the breathtaking views. Before you know it you are part of the skyline, 80 metres above sea level, with all of Brisbane magically before you.
Our team photographer will capture this special moment so you can always remember what it felt like to be up with the birds in the sky. The excitement lasts as you move to other parts of the bridge and take in the glorious views from every angle.
One of the great things about the climb is that the pace is relaxed. People of all ages can enjoy the experience together – you don’t need a particularly high level of fitness. At the end of the 2 hour journey, you’ll probably be surprised by how well you did and feel a strong sense of satisfaction.
