Custom matting:
We are equipped with state of the art computer guided mat cutting machine. We can cut matboard to any size (1000 * 1500mm max), in a wide range of colours, with multiple openings and irregular shaped openings if required. Capabilities also include embossed borders, v-grooves, intricate cut or drawn patterns. Bulk discounts are available for exhibiting artists and students.
Canvas Stretching:
Our senior framer, has over 30 years experience stretching canvas and other materials and is happy to provide advice on any of your stretching requirements.
Ready-made frames and mats:
We stock a small range of commercially made frame in standard sizes up to A1. For a more economical alternative to full custom framing, irregular shaped pieces can often be fitted to standard frames with the aid of a custom cut mat. We also keep on the shelf a range of custom made frames designed especially for ANU and Canberra Uni degrees.
Print Mounting and laminating:
An alternative option to framing a print is print mounting. We can mount your print to either 10mm gatorboard or 5mm foamcore.
Print mounting to 10mm Gatorboard: Gatorboard is a light but durable board consisting of a foam-core sandwiched between very thin craftwood sheets. Print mounting to gatorboard is recommended over print mounting to foam core.
Print mounting to 5mm Foamcore: Foamcore is very light but is also quite flexible, so large size sheets can bow over time. This is why we recommend print mounting to gatorboard.
